'Prometheus' is a fugitive on the FBI Ten Most Wanted list

Assessment

On September 30, 2026 OFAC described Anibal Alexander Canelon Aguirre ('Prometheus') as a fugitive on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, and the FBI poster carried a reward of up to $1,000,000. That status was accurate when written but was overtaken two days later: DOJ announced on October 2, 2026 that he had been apprehended, returned to the United States, and arraigned in Nebraska, where he pleaded not guilty and was detained pending trial. As of October 6, 2026 the FBI poster still listed him as wanted, keeping the superseded status in circulation.
