98 individuals have been indicted in the jackpotting schemes

Assessment

OFAC's September 30, 2026 release stated that since October 21, 2025 DOJ had indicted 98 individuals in ATM jackpotting schemes, a figure also traceable to DOJ's June 26, 2026 release. DOJ's October 2, 2026 release put the count at 120 defendants charged in the District of Nebraska for roles in the conspiracy. The two figures are measured slightly differently (national indictments since a set date versus total charged in Nebraska), but a reader citing 98 as the current total would be two days and 22 defendants behind the record.
