Insider data theft occurred at Maputo airport (FAMM)

Assessment

Dark Reading reported that the possible insider cyber theft occurred at Maputo International Airport, Mozambique (FAMM). FAMM is the ICAO location indicator for Mmabatho/Mahikeng Airport in South Africa's North West province (IATA MBD); Maputo International Airport is ICAO FQMA / IATA MPM, in Mozambique. ICAO allocates the FA- prefix to South Africa and the FQ- prefix to Mozambique, so FAMM cannot be a Mozambican airport. Rio Times identified FAMM as Mmabatho. Dark Reading also described the four-letter codes as IATA codes, which they are not.

What “False” means

Contradicted by primary sources. Reserved for claims checked directly against the authoritative record — an advisory that does not exist, a catalogue that does not list the entry, a directive that says something other than what is reported.
